Chad Johnson Details His Sparring With Jermall and Jermell Charlo: ‘I Got F***ed Up’

The Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul is finally upon us. The world is less than two days away from witnessing one of the greatest boxers back in action. However, the main event is not the only celebrity attraction on the night. Former NFL superstar Chad Johnson will enter the boxing ring.

Mayweather and Paul will be the main event. However, the undercard will feature some big names. None bigger than Johnson, who, like the main event, will fight in an exhibition bout. And the former NFL wide receiver has opened up about his training.

Johnson trained with the world champion twins, Jermall and Jermell Charlo. When asked about what advice the two champions had for him, the American said, “Keep your hands up. I’m not telling you no more. Keep your goddamn hands up.”

The former NFL star then spoke about their sparring sessions. Johnson said, “With them, I got f***ed up. I’m not going to sit here and lie; I’m not going to sit here and lie. I got f***ed up.” Thus, with this comment, Johnson showed the reality of training with two world champions.

Chad Johnson reveals what training camp was like

The comments from the former wide receiver showed that he took his training very seriously. Despite it only being an exhibition, Chad Johnson appears to have left no stone unturned in his preparation. And he spoke about his first boxing camp.

When asked how the camp was, Johnson said, “It was good, it was hard. It was hard… It was fun, I enjoyed it, lost a sh*t ton of weight, and I just look forward to it.” Thus, this confirmed Johnson took the event seriously.

The NFL star will face former MMA fighter Brian Maxwell. Therefore, only time will tell if all the training will pay off for the former NFL star. However, Johnson made it clear that he has done everything he can to prepare for the fight.
