The Baltimore prodigy, Gervonta Davis is set to fight for the first time in 2023 on January 7th against Hector Luis Garcia. Following that, he will be looking forward to a super fight between him and Ryan Garcia. However, a fresh prospect for 2023 has been added to his list of rivals. There has been a buzz about a clash between him and Devin Haney.

Earlier this year, Devin Haney triumphantly established himself as the undisputed lightweight champion. He squared off against Australian boxing sensation George Kambosos Jr. to secure the title. Given the recent instances, there is a possibility that he might go up against Ukrainian boxer Vasyl Lomachenko in the future.

However, a bout with Tank Davis would be the biggest matchup Haney could currently obtain.

Tank Davis holds a stellar record of (27-0-0), while Haney also has an amazing (29-0-0) record. Fans’ reactions to the prospect of pitting them against one another inside the ring were swift. Read the viewpoints of the boxing community.

According to statistics, Davis is a more seasoned combatant than Haney and is renowned for his powerful punches. Haney, on the other hand, is younger than Davis but has so far shown himself to be a formidable boxer. Who is the greater fighter between them can only be determined by an actual battle.

Gervonta Davis and Devin Haney bicker about their previous grudge sparring match

Floyd Mayweather’s protege Tank Davis once appeared on the Rize podcast where he recalled his sparring session with Haney. He had stated that he ‘cracked’ Haney when they sparred. Following this, Haney quickly took to Twitter to share his side of the story.

Haney claimed, “Truth be told I beat the shit out Tank… somebody around here got the footage besides Floyd. & if you so called almost knocked me out what stopped you since when have we heard of you stopping from knocking anybody out? Gtfoh! @Gervontaa”

Apparently, this match-up seems way too far to really take place. Both fighters have some exciting fights lined up, but fans are still eagerly anticipating a battle between them. Only time will tell what the future holds.
