Speaking to ‘Behind the Gloves’ on YouTube, the American answered the question of Andy Ruiz Jr with, “Andy Ruiz, that’s my buddy, you know. He just got to stay in the gym and stay active, you know. Keep his weight down. Like me, we both got the same problem.”
These comments from the former champion showed that he believes that Ruiz Jr can reach the height he did. However, it also gave an insight into why he lost his belt to the same opponent Ruiz Jr did, i.e., Anthony Joshua.

The advice that Martin gave Ruiz Jr will be nothing new for the former champion. It was the first thing that experts noticed after his fight against Anthony Joshua. He even faced a lot of backlash for his careless weight gain.

However, Ruiz Jr has since signed with Eddie Reynoso, and the team has worked their magic. A recent video showed the former champion has cut down a significant amount of weight. It also showed him training harder than ever.

Whether he be able to beat Anthony Joshua in a trilogy is another matter entirely. However, his natural speed and stocky body-type means he will be a threat to any fighter. Rumors suggest a fight between him and Dillian Whyte is close. However, that entirely depends on whether Whyte can get through his rematch.
