Chris Eubank Jr. Laughs Over Billy Joe Saunders’ Performance Against Canelo Alvarez – Wins £10,000 Bet

The main event between Canelo Alvarez and Billy Joe Saunders captivated the attention of the entire world. Ever since its announcement, right until its conclusion, this fight didn’t fail to entertain.

Canelo Alvarez won this fight fair and square as he battered the Brit to the pulp and delighted fans with his performance. But one particular fan, in Chris Eubank Jr., seemed on cloud nine after the Mexican claimed a victory in this bout.

Eubank Jr., who shares an extensive rivalry with Billy Joe Saunders, even placed a £10,000 bet on Alvarez finishing ‘Superb’.

Recently, Michael Benson shared Eubank Jr.’s reaction to Billy Joe Saunders’ loss. In this video, the Sussex native laughed at Saunders’ performance. When the fight ended, he said, “what a whoop a**.”

 

Alvarez and Saunders locked horns with each other in the most charismatic setting. More than 70,000 fans witnessed this fight live in the arena. Moreover, this contest certainly stayed true to the hype created around it. Although Alvarez was a clear winner in this fight, Saunders didn’t give it so easily to him.

‘Superb’ stunned the Guadalajara boxer with his solid jab to the face and body. He even counter-attacked Canelo with some powerful left hands. Despite that, the latter’s skillsets were too much to handle for Saunders, who retired after round 8.

Why did Chris Eubank Jr. want Billy Joe Saunders to lose his bout against Canelo Alvarez?

‘Superb’s rivalry with Chris Eubank Jr. goes back to 2014 when the pair faced each other in a massive middleweight title fight. Both of them were undefeated back then, but in this fight, Eubank Jr. lost his precious ‘O’ to Saunders.

That said, he wished to see Saunders on the losing vertical for the first time in his pro boxing career. Although ‘Superb’ lost the biggest fight of his career against Canelo, he has nothing to be ashamed about as he lost to the P4P king.
