Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn were meant to meet in the ring years ago. But they didn’t, thanks to Benn’s positive PED test. ‘The Destroyer’ fought tooth and nail to get back in the game and finally met his generational rival earlier this year. Alas, it was a disappointment for the 29-year-old as he lost the fight via unanimous decision. However, he wasn’t about to make the same mistake again.

This time, the pair met for their highly anticipated rematch at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, the same venue where the first unfolded, on Saturday night. Unlike the last fight, however, Benn utterly dominated Eubank Jr. from the opening bell to the closing, ultimately producing a unanimous decision victory after dropping Eubank Jr. twice. But while Benn celebrates his win, Eubank Jr. has taken a humble approach to his fourth career loss.

Chris Eubank Jr. finds praise in his heart for Conor Benn

In his first social media post since the fight, Eubank Jr. wrote, “I did my best with what I had tonight, unfortunately, it wasn’t enough.” He also congratulated his opponent for stepping up his game since their last meeting in April. “Conor Benn, you fought [a] great fight, congratulations to you.” With 1-1 on either side now, talks of a trilogy erupted on social media. However, the public appeared uninterested in the third edition happening

That feeling was shared by the fighters as well. Right after the fight, Conor Benn made it clear that he doesn’t intend to have a trilogy. “It’s been some journey, and I feel like this is the end of the Benn-Eubank saga,” Benn said post-fight. “Done and finished. It’s over. I know Chris has twins coming and I’ve got my boy, but this ends here.” Meanwhile, Chris Eubank Jr. might have wanted a trilogy, but he admitted his defeat.

“I’ve been through hell and back to get to this night and it is what it is,” Eubank said. “I tried my best and listen, the kid fought hard, he fought tough, he’s got power this kid. … We put on a show and Conor Benn was the best man tonight, so congratulations for him.” Regardless of what happens next, it’s not just Chris Eubank Jr. who has reflected on tonight’s fight emotionally.

Benn admits he will go home and cry after the Eubank Jr. fight

Conor Benn couldn’t hide the emotion after finally avenging his loss to Chris Eubank Jr., admitting he would probably “go home and cry” following his career-defining win. It was a moment that meant far more than just a victory on the scorecards. “I feel like I’m going to go home and cry,” Benn said at the post-fight press conference, reflecting on the long road back.

“Oh man, it’s been hard. Facing my first loss, coming back from adversity… You just have to keep fighting.” Benn also acknowledged the personal battles he endured after failing two drug tests in 2022. “Facing your own demons every single day, that’s the hardest fight really,” he added, dedicating the win to the friends and family who “helped me carry the load.”

Having said that, it appears the story of Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn has finally come to an end. But would you like to see a trilogy?
