The feud between Claressa Shields and Most Valuable Promotion, owned by Jake Paul and business partner Nakisa Bidarian, continues. Shields, who is scheduled to fight Lani Daniels on July 26th at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, recently made some claims regarding the boxing promotion, which seems to have come back to bite her.
Shields has had issues with the MVP in the past as well! Previously, she started a beef with Amanda Serrano, who is signed to the promotion, because they used the ‘GWOAT’ (Greatest Woman of All Time) moniker to describe Serrano, which Shields claims belongs only to her. This seems to have prompted Shields to take legal action against the promotion.
Shields described this situation while appearing in an interview with Ariel Helwani recently. It prompted Helwani to question whether that’s the sole reason behind their feud, or has Serrano and her promotion disrespected Shields by offering her a fight? “They offered me some money to fight on the July card,” Shields claimed, referencing the all-women’s event, headlining Amanda Serrano vs. Katie Taylor trilogy on July 11th at Madison Square Garden, New York.

“I think it was co-main against Shadasia [Green], but their money was nowhere near what I make,” Shields continued. Per reports, Shields’ highest pay day, $1.5 million, came against Danielle Perkins in February 2025. Meanwhile, Serrano’s highest purse is reportedly $8 million, which she got for the rematch against Katie Taylor on November 15, 2024. Regardless, Shields added, “That’s disrespectful.”
She failed to understand how MVP expects to work with someone like her when they continue to disrespect her. A clip of this interview was shared on X soon afterwards by Helwani, and quickly attracted attention from Nakisa Bidarian, who promptly accused Shields of lying about the entire thing. “MVP unequivocally never made an offer to Claressa Shields / her promoter / her manager for any fight in 2025. Not even verbally,” Bidarian claimed.
Boxing insider Rick Glaser also joined the conversation, writing, “Nakisa, you didn’t expect Claressa Shields to tell the truth did you! 😂” This suggests that Shields might have made these statements purely for clout, to stay relevant, and to draw attention ahead of her fight against Daniels. Regardless, this isn’t the first exchange between Shields and Bidarian.

Amanda Serrano gets involved after Claressa Shields attacks Nakisa Bidarian
Claressa Shields lashed out at Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), over his comments about her weight in relation to a potential fight with Alycia Baumgardner last month. Bidarian claimed Shields was “too heavy” and would need to come down in weight to make the biggest money fight of her career, sparking a furious response from the three-weight undisputed champion.

After Shields started attacking Bidarian on social media for the same, Serrano stepped in to de-escalate, posting on X, “Making a fight offer isn’t us disrespecting her in any way.” However, Shields accused MVP of “throwing rocks & hiding y’all hands,” and called for Serrano and Baumgardner to “fight each other” since they’re “closer in weight.” Serrano then responded firmly, “It’s time to recognize this and move forward on separate paths.”

Shields replied, “I’ve never once disrespected your accomplishments,” but insisted MVP had disrespected her from the start. Having said that, it appears Claressa Shields might have been caught in a lie. Or is it the other way around? Shields hasn’t commented on Bidarian’s accusation yet, but the question is—do you think the accusation is true?
