The unified middleweight champion, Claressa Shields appears to have changed her perception of Jake Paul after Paul’s MVP Promotions secured the Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano fight. Beforehand, Shields and Paul have traded harsh words on social media, belittling each other’s achievements in the sport of boxing.

Well, Shields, a world champion, is way above Jake Paul’s in-ring achievements. But Paul has seemingly done some interesting things outside the ring, such as putting on bigger paychecks for all the fighters appearing in his undercard. He also signed Amanda Serrano under his stable, and ‘The Real Deal’ seems pleased to have joined hands with ‘The Problem Child’.

She claims to have become a millionaire by working with Jake Paul, and a super fight against Katie Taylor on April 30 will clearly fetch more for Serrano. That said, Claressa Shields couldn’t help her from acknowledging Jake Paul.

In a chat with TMZ, ‘The GWOAT’ said, “I wish [Jake] the best,”

“What he’s doing for Amanda is great. I think that him getting involved in helping the fight with Katie Taylor is great for Amanda and Katie and it’s great for women’s boxing.”

“I appreciate him for that and I just wish him the best in whatever he does and just keeps his damn hands up, that’s it.”

Shields further said she had no tussles with Paul unless he demeaned Claressa Shields’ MMA loss. However, the banter had begun away before that and Jake Paul demeaning Claressa Shields’ loss was just a follow-up. Nevertheless, the recent positivity from Claressa Shields is a good sign, which can help to stage several potential super fights in female boxing.

Can Claressa Shields and Jake Paul work together?

Shields has worked with several entities in her life, as she is also a reputed martial artist now. Thus, we can see her join forces with Jake Paul somewhere down the line. Akin to Serrano and Taylor, ‘The GWOAT’ is also an absolute A-listed female fighter of this generation. She can potentially target the winner of Serrano v Taylor if either side decides to come to a mutual weight class.

But not to forget, Shields has been on a prime journey even before Jake Paul entered the boxing scene.

Hence, she can continue crafting her own journey without ‘The Problem Child’ on her side. But if both sides can come together, it will seemingly be beneficial for the sport and women’s fighting on the gross.
