Undisputed female Middleweight champion Claressa Shields has had quite the beef with undisputed Super-Middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez. Despite both fighters being two of the best in the sport they don’t seem to hold a great amount of admiration for one another.

This is especially the case with Shields who was not too keen on attending upcoming fights of Saul. This was revealed after she took to Twitter to announce her visiting schedule for this year’s mega fights. However, there was no mention of the Mexican boxer which led a fan to call her out on this.

Despite this, Shields went on the defend her statement claiming that she would never see his fights. Moreover, she even revealed the reason why she did not want to be at any of the Mexican’s fights. In addition, this was not the first time she has responded to fans who mentioned Alvarez before.

‘The GWOAT’ responded to the fan stating that Alvarez never wished her any luck or attended her fights. According to her, this was a more than valid reason not to go to any of his fights either. “Canelo ain’t never came to any of my fights or wished me luck, what the F I look like,” she wrote.

This was a very personal reason from Shields and certainly showed her resentment towards Alvarez. However, another fan posted a video of the female middleweight champion working out in the same way as ‘Saul’. Moreover, he even called out Shields for copying his boxing style. Despite this, Shields did not muster from her stance.

Shields fires back at a fan after being called out for copying Canelo

The former Olympian asked the fan what the video was supposed to prove. She stated that the two were working on the same techniques and that she has mimicked other fighters including Floyd Mayweather. Moreover, she doubled down on her claim of never attending an Alvarez fight.

“What this vodie mean lol. I was showing him that I was working on some of the same shit he work on! Just like the videos of done of Floyd too. And this video was a year and half ago. Still ain’t going to his fights bozo,” she wrote.

It appears that Shields’ decision to not attend Alvarez’s fights is based on a negative personal experience she had or felt with him. While she has been critical of Alvarez in the past for professional reasons, it’s clear that her decision to not attend his fights is a personal one.
