The undefeated Gervonta Davis has done it again. Taking out Leo Santa Cruz in the sixth round via knockout, he is now the WBA lightweight and super featherweight champion of the world. However, ‘Tank’ had to bring out his best game to secure the win. The fight turned out to be extremely physical from the initial round, and both the boxers landed prominent shots on each other.

While Leo Santa Cruz secured a knockdown in the very first round, Davis got back on his feet to put on a show. However, that didn’t stop the Brooklyn native from offering all the action. He came up with the challenges and pressurized Davis for a long time. However, ‘Tank’ needed just one clean uppercut to claim the win amid the live audience.

Gervonta Davis vs Leo Santa Cruz: How it went down

While Floyd Mayweather was present at the ringside, Davis couldn’t afford to lose. Leo Santa Cruz did everything he could to punish the Baltimore native. The damage was quite prominent on Davis’s face as he ate a lot of good shots from his opponent.

Until and unless he connected with the uppercut, the fight was going rough with both the men landing the big shots. Yet, Davis didn’t let the fight go to the judges’ scorecards. Just when the pair got involved in a heated exchange, Davis timed a perfect uppercut and fed Santa Cruz to the canvas. No wonder the Brooklyn superstar couldn’t get back o his feet and the fight was called off in favor of ‘Tank’ Davis.
