WBO junior lightweight champion Jamel Herring, who is coming off a DQ win over Jonathan Oquendo, has signed an advisory deal with MTK Global. The management has over 300 boxers under its belt, including the WBO super-middleweight champion, Billie Joe Saunders, and the WBC, Lineal, and The Ring heavyweight champion, “The Gypsy King” Tyson Fury.

Following this news, Fury took to his Twitter account to welcome Herring to the MTK. He wrote:

“Great news. Jamel has a tremendous story. Could not ask for a better addition to the MTK team.”

Jamel Herring’s thoughts on signing with MTK Global

On signing the deal Herring said, “I’m very excited about this next step in my career. I know that by adding MTK Global as an advisor along with Brian McIntyre as my manager, I have the strongest team in the game.

“A special shout out to my guy Jerry Casarez and Jamie Conlan of MTK for helping push this over the line. The best is yet to come from Jamel Herring, and with MTK Global on my team, I know I’m going to get the right opportunities.”

The signing brought a positive change in Herring’s spirits as he was feeling dejected after the negative comments on social media following his DQ win. Many even talked about his Marine background.

The MTK Global Vice-President Jamie Conlan said, “We’re delighted to welcome Jamel Herring to the team. Although Herring’s future opponent Carl Frampton is also signed to MTK, it does not bring any issue between the two or the organization. According to Conlan, it will actually be easier to make the fight. Well, if that is the case, we could surely expect to see the two square off in near future.
