Let’s throwback to a year ago. Two former champions, Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn, were scheduled to fight one another. Both boxers, at the time, were one of the best in their division. And if that was not enough to rile the fans up, they had bad blood for one another. However, a few weeks before the bout, Benn tested positive for a banned substance in his VADA drug test. As a result, the bout was called off and Benn was barred from fighting.

Although their bout did not come to fruition, their bad blood remained. And with the recent win over Liam Smith, Eubank Jr. is inclined and in talks to face Benn in December. Ahead of their potential fight, Conor Benn details his game plan. What is the game plan? Let’s find out.

Conor Benn makes a bold claim

Their bout is not official, but their respective promoters have hinted that an announcement is on the cards. Not to mention, both fighters are acting as if the bout is next in line. Only recently, Benn was asked for his prediction if he ever faces Eubank Jr. In response, he asserted that only would he beat him, but he would also knock him out. He always, although satirical, gave a visual representation of him being ‘The Next Gen’.

In an interview, he stated, “The first round I am going to come, crack straight on top of his head. Do you know what I mean? And you know when he is going all out I am going to go f*cking crack, have a bit of crack over there. Have a bit of that. Goodnight.”

It is safe to say that Benn is not short of confidence and this confidence only adds fuel to the fire. It bears a mention that Eubank Jr., on the other hand, is equally confident. But according to his father, there is no bad blood.

Chris Eubank Sr. on Eubank Jr. vs Benn

Unlike Benn, Eubank Sr. does not have much animosity for his son’s rival. According to him, Benn is fighting for money and Eubank Jr. is fighting to prove his worth. Reflecting on the same, he stated, “This bad blood that you are supposed to have with my son. There’s no bad blood there. [Benn] is only interested in money [Harlem] is interested in being actually being number one.”
