Andy Ruiz Jr has been a constant talking point since his meteoric rise to super-stardom. He beat Joshua in the first fight despite being the underdog. However, in the re-match, he got outboxed for 12 rounds and lost all the belts.

However, Ronaldo doesn’t agree with the criticism he received. In conversation with Gennady Golovkin on the Parallel Worlds: Ronaldo x GGG documentary, the Portuguese international said, “Joshua is one of the best, but Ruiz is good. That’s what I was talking about with my friends because they made fun of him and told me to look at Ruiz’s fat body”.

Ronaldo added, “I would tell them, ‘Listen, the body doesn’t matter. What matters is preparation.” Given that Cristiano Ronaldo just broke Pele’s goal-scoring record, it is safe to say that he knows a thing or two about preparation.
