Andy Ruiz Jr has been a constant talking point since his meteoric rise to super-stardom. He beat Joshua in the first fight despite being the underdog. However, in the re-match, he got outboxed for 12 rounds and lost all the belts.

However, Ronaldo doesn’t agree with the criticism he received. In conversation with Gennady Golovkin on the Parallel Worlds: Ronaldo x GGG documentary, the Portuguese international said, “Joshua is one of the best, but Ruiz is good. That’s what I was talking about with my friends because they made fun of him and told me to look at Ruiz’s fat body”.

Ronaldo added, “I would tell them, ‘Listen, the body doesn’t matter. What matters is preparation.” Given that Cristiano Ronaldo just broke Pele’s goal-scoring record, it is safe to say that he knows a thing or two about preparation.

Andy Ruiz Jr is following in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo

Ever since his defeat, Ruiz Jr has shown his dedication to getting his belts back. The former champion signed with Canelo Alvarez’s trainer Eddy Reynoso and is in the process of a stunning body transformation.

Just like Cristiano Ronaldo, Andy Ruiz Jr wants to stay disciplined and avoid any bad habits. The Portuguese soccer star has been the epitome of hard work since the start of his career, and if the heavyweight can take anything from him, it should be that.
