UFC head honcho Dana White is preparing for his deep dive into the boxing world with the potential launch of his new boxing promotion. Recently, His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, who has been the savior of boxing for the past few years, sponsored UFC 306 under Riyadh Season’s banner at the Las Vegas Sphere. Well, now White is ready to enter the boxing world following what was a successful trial run in Ireland.

On 20th September, at Dublin’s 3Arena, Callum Walsh headlined his debut bout in Ireland, where he defended his WBC Continental Americas Super Welterweight title against Przemyslaw Runowski. White has been a vocal supporter and a close mentor of Walsh for a long time and was there ringside to support him. The fight was streamed live on UFC Fight Pass and served as a test run for White’s upcoming boxing plans. After the latest episode of the Contender series, the UFC CEO opened up about his boxing plans and how it will differ from every other promotion.

During the press conference, an interviewer asked White about Walsh’s fight and how it followed a similar production pattern to the UFC, in terms of its production. The fight even had similar graphics and everything moved quite quickly, like a UFC event. White agreed with the analysis and stated that his promotion would be different from other companies. White stated, “Yeah. We pulled this thing off quick um you know there’s obviously a lot of work to do. But what’d you notice about it? How fast the fights went?” while focusing on the fast-paced nature of the fight without unnecessary breaks like most boxing fights.

Dana White was grateful to the production company, who organized the event and ensured everything ran smoothly and even took a cheeky dig at other boxing promotions while he was at it. Dana White made it clear that there would be “No fu****g podcast in between fights. Uh yeah, so, yes, the fights will move faster.” His promotion will include fewer breaks between the fights and fans will get what they want without waiting for eternity, unlike a boxing PPV event.

During the press conference, White made it clear that he is planning big stuff for 2025. “I have always had an idea of how I thought it should be done. I don’t know if that’s possible, but we’re going to find out. I’m coming in guns blazing,” stated the 55-year-old while gatekeeping his exact plans.

Fans are excited about this new promotion and it looks like White has got the approval of the biggest personality in boxing in the form of Mike TysonTyson thinks that White is “going to be the best thing to happen to boxing, just like UFC.” The 58-year-old boxer is hopeful for the new promotion and stated that it will be far superior to the current brand with a much more cutthroat competition.

During the ‘It Is What It Is Podcast’, Tyson mentioned, “If you’re in UFC, and if anybody’s booing the fight, you’re not going to see that guy. His next fight is going to be in South Dakota somewhere. Only good fights. If you don’t have a good fight, you ain’t never going to see that guy again,” as he criticized the current matchmaking process in boxing.
