Daniel Dubois Wants to Make a Statement Against Dillian Whyte but Knows That He’s Not Ready

Young heavyweight Daniel Dubois has been tipped for greatness in the sport by many observers. In fact, the 23-year-old Brit had a lot of hype around him until he lost to Joe Joyce. However, the Londoner seems to be getting his confidence back.

Dubois’ loss brought about heaps of criticism from fellow competitors. Many even labeled the young star a quitter, and heavyweight contender Dillian Whyte was at the forefront of these accusations. However, Dubois has now retaliated.

The 15-1 boxer spoke to the DailyMail and gave his take on Whyte. He said, “One day, I’d like to get in the ring with Dillian Whyte and show him just how much of a quitter I am. All of it will give me the experience I need as a fighter. I’ll get better fights under my belt.”

These comments from the ‘Dynamite’ showed there is bad blood between the two because of the result. Moreover, Dubois wants to set things straight with his compatriot. However, he also admitted that he needed more time and experience.

When could Daniel Dubois face Dillian Whyte?

These comments showed that the fight would not be anytime soon. Dubois wants to get other fights under his belt before he faces someone of the caliber of Whyte. So, when could the ‘Dynamite’ face-off against the ‘Body Snatcher’?

One of the biggest questions about Dubois heading into the Joe Joyce fight was his inexperience. Ultimately, it proved to be the decisive factor as Dubois’ inexperience showed in the fight as he succumbed to defeat.

If the 23-year-old rushes into another big fight against another experienced campaigner, it would yield the same result, especially after such a crushing defeat in his last fight. Therefore, the sensible thing for Dubois would be to get three or four more fights before taking on Whyte.

Thus, that would mean fans would not get to see that match-up for at least another two years. However, stranger things have happened in boxing, and thus, you never know when they could agree to a fight.
