David Beckham Welcomes Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua to Miami

Anthony Joshua is one of the biggest names in the sporting world. The unified heavyweight champion’s fame extends beyond boxing. And as ‘AJ’ prepares for the biggest fight of his career, he has shown his global superstardom by linking up with soccer superstar, David Beckham.

Joshua has agreed to a two-fight deal with Tyson Fury and seems to be relaxed going into the bout. The champion got a celebrity welcome to Miami, with David Beckham welcoming the British boxer to the city.

The soccer superstar, Beckham, posted a picture to his Instagram which showed himself and Joshua. The champion visited Beckham’s MLS Franchise, Inter Miami Clube De Football’s home stadium. Moreover, Beckham claimed he was happy to welcome the champion Stateside.

David Beckham is arguably one of the biggest global names in soccer. The Englishman represented his country 115 times, played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, and even had a stint in the MLS with LA Galaxy. Therefore, this is a testament to the fame of Joshua, since a superstar like Beckham is linking up with him.

However, there has been no confirmation of his reason for visiting Miami. Fans will hope that it is part of the promotion for the Tyson Fury fight.

Anthony Joshua: The Soccer fan

This boxer and soccer player link-up proved the Londoner is well and truly a global star. However, this is not the only affinity that ‘AJ’ has with the sport. The Englishman has long been an ardent follower of ‘The Beautiful Game.’

Joshua passionately supports Watford FC in the English leagues. Moreover, David Beckham is not the only footballer he has linked up with. The heavyweight champion shares a close relationship with Troy Deeney and has met up with arguably the greatest soccer player of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo.

In addition, the champion has visited Beckham’s former club, Manchester United, back when Jose Mourinho was in charge. As a result, he linked up with players like Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford. Therefore, Joshua is clearly a passionate soccer fan.
