Gone are the days when the best would fight the best just to prove who is superior. The new era of money is plaguing the sport of boxing now, where the best only fight the best if there’s enough money in it! And nothing illustrates the point better than Canelo Alvarez demanding $200 million to face David Benavidez, who btw, is his mandatory challenger.

In the meantime, boxing commentator and popular boxing YouTube star ShowBizz the Adult has reflected on the situation while urging ‘Cinnamon’ to accept the challenge, at the very least, for his legacy in the sport. With Canelo’s last fight in May against Jaime Munguia in the bag, he is expected to fight on the Mexican Independence Day, September 16, but will it be Benavidez? ShowBizz the Adult sure hopes so!

What’s more valuable than $200 million?

Speaking about Canelo constantly trying to avoid the Benavidez fight, the commentator said, “David Benavidez [is] lifting Canelo Alvarez’s skirt to the moon”, referring to how Benavidez would mock the Mexican superstar for being scared of him. He even highlighted a statement from Benavidez where the Mexican ‘Monster’ claimed that Canelo should be thankful to him because Canelo hasn’t demanded that kind of money to fight anyone else.

Frustrated, like many fans in the community, ShowBizz explained what’s more valuable than Canelo’s $200 million. He said, “Respect, I promise you…” Claiming to be Canelo’s fan, the commentator even suggested that he doesn’t care if Canelo loses the fight, but “you better fight him.” ShowBizz went as far as to highlight comments from Terence Crawford, who is also looking to get his hands on the Mexican boxing legend. The commentator said, “Even Terence Crawford is out here like yeah ‘He don’t want to fight you’.”

While Benavidez and the fans wait for someone to offer Canelo $200 million, Terence Crawford’s trainer is already thinking about what happens after Crawford beats Canelo.

Retirement for Terence Crawford after Canelo Alvarez?

Terence Crawford won all the belts in both the 140-lb division and the 145-lb division and is now looking forward to a 154-pound fight against Israel Madrimov. However, Crawford’s trainer Brian ‘Bomac’ Mcintyre suggests the goal is still facing Canelo, which could be the cherry on top of Crawford’s already illustrious career. Speaking to Fight Hub TV, ‘Bomac’ revealed what Crawford may do next!

He said, “Bud has got it in him [to defeat Canelo]. I can see him doing it”. ‘Bomac’ emphasized that the potential fight would be a challenge for ‘Bud’ and the whole team, but they can get it done. “I know that Bud has the tools to beat him. If Bud beats Canelo, we may damn near retire, if you beat the pound-for-pound king,” he added. Still, for now, they are focused on the WBA light middleweight champion Israil Madrimov on August 3.

As things are, no one’s quite sure what Canelo’s next steps are. Will he ever fight Benavidez? Is a Crawford showdown possible? No one really knows, but one thing is for sure, if Canelo gets enough money, anything is possible. Do you think Canelo Alvarez is ducking David Benavidez?
