If Terence Crawford’s speed and power are any evidence, he is a force to be reckoned with. In his last bout against Errol Spence Jr., Crawford disassembled Spence and left him with his first career loss. Spence had never even been knocked down in his career before he met Crawford in the ring. Yet, during the bout, Crawford knocked him down thrice. And for all matters and purposes, Spence is a great fighter. But recently, Canelo Alvarez made a remark about Crawford that Robert Garcia did not agree with.

Crawford first showed interest in a match against Canelo when he appeared in Joe Rogan’s podcast two weeks ago. He described the potential fight against Canelo as the biggest fight in Boxing. He even claimed he would climb multiple weight classes to get a shot against ‘Cinnamon.’ Meanwhile, during a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Canelo Alvarez potentially dissed Crawford. He said Crawford is a good fighter, but Errol Spence is the only good fighter he ever fought. Is this the beginning of a beef between the two great fighters? Or is what Canelo said even true? Robert Garcia sheds light on the matter.

A question that has been looming over everyone’s mind is who would Crawford fight next? In an interview, Canelo claimed Crawford did not fight anyone great besides Spence. In response, Crawford said, these people don’t know what they are talking about. So, Robert Garcia, a legend and a well-respected name in the boxing community, shared his opinion on the matter.

He said, “Do I think he [Crawford] is a great fighter? Yes, he is a great fighter. Even though people might think jumping up two weight divisions…I don’t think Canelo is much taller….Crawford is as tall as Canelo right? Crawford’s speed….he is gonna be faster because he is smarter…I think he [Crawford] can beat him [Canelo].”

When asked to take a pick between the two fighters, Garcia said, “Talent-wise, I’ll probably say….you know what…I was gonna say Crawford but look no….I am gonna go back…because Crawford has great wins but at 35…. ok 36….It’s a little late. Canelo has been doing this for f**king 10 years already. You know more than that. So, I will probably say Canelo.”

Amir Khan warns Crawford about moving up weight classes to fight Canelo

Amir Khan is an ex-professional boxer from Britain. He fought Australian boxer Billy Dib in his last fight in Saudi Arabia. In the past, Khan had moved up weight classes to fight Canelo but lost the bout when Canelo delivered a brutal shot to his chin. After his first loss, Khan’s career spiraled downwards to a point where he doesn’t fight anymore.

Upon hearing rumors of Crawford vs. Canelo, Khan warned Crawford about the situation, according to an article from Boxing Scene. While Crawford plans to move up weight classes just like Khan, it doesn’t necessarily mean it will produce the same results. And even if it does, Crawford seems to have made up his mind on the situation. So, all fans can do is wait and see.
