Demetrius Andrade Questions Canelo Alvarez’s Reasoning, Calls Him a ‘Coward Sh*t’

Demetrius Andrade and Canelo Alvarez share a heated rivalry with each other. Back when Alvarez competed in the middleweight division, his matchup with Andrade was on the cards. However, the fight between the pair couldn’t materialize. Yet, with time, the feud between the pair has only ignited, despite the fact that they box in different divisions.

In a conversation with DAZN Boxing, the WBO middleweight champ fired wild verbal shots at his foe. He said, “He’s a coward. To me, that’s some coward s***. You’ll fight Rocky Fielding, what has he done?… As far as the excuses to not get in the ring with me, call me a ‘horrible fighter’, that’s coward s***.” (h/t Michael Benson)

Ever since Alvarez has stepped into the super-middleweight landscape, his sole aim was to conquer all the belts at this weight class. With that intent, the Mexican is going supremely strong with his stint at the 168-pound landscape.

In his last fight, he crucified Billy Joe Saunders in a massive title unification fight. Although Alvarez didn’t begin the fight too well, he won the match. Hence, Canelo has now set himself up for an undisputed title clash against Caleb Plant.

The Mexican boxer has impressed everyone with his current momentum in the game. However, ‘Boo Boo’ isn’t quite impressed with the 30-year-old’s career path.

How can Demetrius Andrade make his chances viable for a fight against Canelo Alvarez?

For now, the Guadalajara boxer has cemented his plans of staying at the super-middleweight division for a while. That said, he won’t look to switch his weight class or lock horns with anyone else until he claims every belt at this weight class.

Considering that, there is only one way left for Demetrius Andrade to touch gloves with Canelo. ‘Boo-Boo’ will have to take matters into his own hands by moving up to the latter’s weight class.

It’ll be interesting to what the American boxer comes up with in order to stage a fight with his longtime rival.
