Deontay Wilder fell short in the trilogy against Tyson Fury and suffered the second loss of his career via a devastating round 11 TKO. Despite giving his best, Wilder couldn’t have the final laugh. He poleaxed Fury with some good shots and even put him down twice in round four. However, ‘The Gypsy King’ had no intentions of letting go of his WBC strap.

Following the heavyweight war, Wider’s trainer Malik Scott expressed all his love for the former WBC champion and detailed that they weren’t considering retirement. Although team Wilder didn’t hint at their next possible move, they vowed to remain active in the ride.

Well, Wilder has achieved it all in his journey and will clearly go down as one of the scariest heavyweight punchers of all time. Hence, he may opt to hang his gloves and retire from this point. Although it’s still not official, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ has already teased it.

In conversation with LOLNetwork, (via Michael Benson) Wilder said, “I have accomplished my goals in this sport. I told my daughter when she was one that I’d be a champion and able to support her beyond belief. I’ve done that. Should I give it a go one more time, or should I just retire and focus on other things?”

In an active resume of 42 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw, Wilder has scored 41 KOs. He has only failed to vanquish one opponent, and that is Tyson Fury. Thus, Wilder clearly had a legendary stint in the sport and he can rightly walk away from it.
