Former WBC champion Deontay Wilder is no longer under the influence and training of his co-trainer Mark Breland. As per reports, Wilder and Breland have parted ways because of the latter’s action on February 22, which cost Wilder his WBC title.

‘The Bronze Bomber’ was tormented throughout his rematch against Tyson Fury, as the British heavyweight unleashed an all-out assault on him in round number seven. Although Wilder was still on his feet, he was defenseless in front of Fury’s dominance.

That said, Wilder’s head coach Mark Breland threw in the towel, citing the referee to stop the contest. Despite being stunned badly, Wilder did not want that to happen as he expressed his frustration in the post-fight segment.

He went to his corner and questioned Mark Breland for his action. Besides, he also hinted at changing his head coach after the fight.

It’s Official! – No more Mark Breland for Deontay Wilder

After almost eight months, it is final that Mark Breland will not corner Deontay Wilder in his boxing career ahead. If not for Breland’s action, Wilder would have had the opportunity to go out on his shield.

Contrary to his performance against Fury in the rematch, all he needed was one clean shot to seal the victory. Wilder is one of the most lethal punchers in the sport and he has all the power to knock out Tyson Fury. However, he could not put that on display as Mark Breland curbed the show in the seventh round.

“And no one knows if this change came about from that one fight, or there were some other things, and the culmination was the loss.”

If everything goes right, Wilder and Fury will face each other again in December this year.
