Deontay Wilder’s Comeback ‘Not Happening’

Deontay Wilder was on an invincible run in the heavyweight division before he crossed paths with Tyson Fury. He now has suffered two losses in a row and also has lost his position from the ongoing title race. There’s no denying Fury has exposed Wilder’s flaws and has made him look human in the ring.

Although ‘The Bronze Bomber’ is still a top-tier persona, the last two losses have clearly have put him on a setback. Well, Wilder could have staged another run towards the world title, as he still has the most number of knockouts amongst the active contenders. But that doesn’t seem to be happening. Wilder’s trainer, Malik Scott, had assured to bring back his prodigy into action. Nevertheless, World Boxing News’ reports claim we may have seen the last of Deontay Wilder.

Deontay Wilder’s teammate Tay Jones recently replied to a social media post, which demanded a timeline for Wilder’s resurgence in the ring. Answering that, Jones wrote, “not happening.”

Wilder’s exit will clearly change the infrastructure of the heavyweight division. A lot of fantasy fights won’t happen, which will make it easier for other contenders to march towards a world championship. Despite losing to Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder looked commendable in the latest outing against him and could put his rival to the canvas twice.

Even Tyson Fury hailed the Bronze Bomber’s prowess and tagged him as the second-best heavyweight boxer right after him. Thus, Deontay Wilder has enough reasons to carry forward his career. But he hasn’t explained his situation yet, and it’s unclear whether we will see him in the ring again.

However, he hasn’t been a unified or an undisputed titlist. Thus, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ may have a lot to do. But his personal accomplishments cite him to have touched the sky of success. Despite starting off late in the sort of boxing, Wilder became one of the hardest punchers of all time.

He also became a world champion, which he had promised to his daughter. Having earned millions and millions, he is financially well off to retire. So, it justifies his possible decision of hanging the gloves. But the sport of boxing is unpredictable and so is Wilder’s retribution.
