The Tuscaloosa, Alabama native Deontay ‘The Bronze Bomber’ Wilder held the WBC belt since 2015 and boasted of an undefeated record before he met Tyson ‘The Gypsy King’ Fury in the ring back in 2018.
The first match ended in a split draw. Fury out-landed Wilder for the majority of the fight. However, Fury got knocked out in the ninth round and this turned the tide of the fight.
However, in the rematch back in 2020, Fury showed the world that he deserved to win. Fury outboxed Wilder for 7 straight rounds, knocking Wilder down twice before Wilder’s corner threw in the towel. This was not the first time Fury got a taste of boxing silverware. Back in 2015, Fury beat Wladimir Klitschko to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
However, personal problems prevented him from fighting in the rematch, and he relinquished his titles. Since then, Fury has again made his way back to the top of the heavyweight division and now looks to defeat Wilder for the 2nd time.
Both Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder are two of the highest-paid heavyweights in present-day boxing. Ahead of their trilogy fight, let’s take a look at Deontay Wilder’s Net Worth.
