Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford is one of the highly demanded boxing matchups in the sport at the moment. These two welterweight sensations are the top contenders in the division and two equally skilled opponents for each other. But, despite the hype and expectations, the fans have not seen this fight come to fruition inside the boxing ring despite both boxers’ interests in fighting each other. However, the unified welterweight champion, Errol Spenec Jr., is expected to make a return to the boxing ring against someone else after his car accident last year.

Despite the rumors of his return with another opponent than Crawford, it seems that the 33-year-old is determined to make his fight with Crawford happen. And holds no interest in fighting anyone else than the reigning WBO welterweight champion.

Errol Spence Jr. wants to fight the “best competition”

Spence Jr. recently made an appearance on his girlfriend’s talk show on YouTube called On the Rocks w/AO. And, while on the show, ‘The Truth’ talked about numerous things ranging from family and personal life. But, he did not forget to mention his eagerness to get in the ring with Crawford.

Spence Jr. said, “Am trying to fight the best competition. That’s the whole reason am trying to fight Crawford.” He further claimed that he is a man of his word and holds no interest in fighting anybody else than the 35-year-old. He added, “Am a man of my word. Am not trying to fight anybody else but him.”

Spence Jr. last fought in 2022, prevailing in his bout against Yordenis Ugas. But, unfortunately, found himself in a car accident which hampered his boxing performance. But he is ready to make a return inside the boxing ring for his fans. And it seems he only wants Crawford to be the one standing opposite the ring.

These two welterweight titans are fans’ favorite to clash inside the boxing ring. But, despite a failed attempt to set up a fight in 2021, these two are yet to meet inside the boxing ring. Notably, the two have shown interest in fighting each other. And it is safe to say that it is a matter of time before these two lock horns inside the squared circle. The fans have experienced nothing but disappointment due to the failure of these two to deliver the fight.
