Mike Tyson continues to push boundaries even years after his retirement. After amassing 50 victories with 44 coming by way of knockouts, ‘Iron Mike,’ retired in the year 2005. His career had many highs but it also had many lows. He suffered devastating defeats, filed for bankruptcy, and had multiple divorces. However, his love and passion for the sport have been a constant throughout his life.

In a recent interview, the former heavyweight champion revealed that he trades his sleep to work out. This revelation is quite intriguing considering his nerve condition. So without further ado, let’s dive in on his nerve condition and his recent comments.

Unfortunately, Tyson suffers from a nerve condition called sciatica. It is due to this condition that Tyson feels pain from his lower back to his leg or at times both of his legs. However, despite suffering from this painful condition, ‘Iron Mike,’ continues to train and does not mind compromising on his sleep. He justifies the same by asserting that working out is his passion.

Reflecting on the same, in an interview with Raiders on YouTube, Tyson stated, “I don’t sleep much no it just is it’s my desire to do it when you love something you never get tired of doing [it]”.

This revelation only goes to show that Tyson has earned the right to be known as the, ‘Baddest man to ever live.’ Moreover, this leads to the question of how Tyson deals with pain associated with his nerve condition

His nerve condition is not the only physical pain he had to deal with. The boxer suffered multiple injuries while boxing and even before he turned professional. However, with good time, he made peace with it. Reflecting on the same, in an interview, he stated, “I have had pain all my life since I was 14 years old. I had nerve damage. I broke my hands a couple of times, I bust my head open trying to show somebody and hit a pipe.”

However, he added that one must fight through these injuries and not succumb to it. Tyson has been an inspiration around the world.
