Diaz recently won his fight against Javier Fortuna for the WBC interim strap. This contest went the distance. It was ‘Jo Jo’ who claimed a magnetic unanimous decision win.
With that win, Diaz has put himself in the top of contention for a fight against the champ, Haney. Now, his sole aim would be to smother ‘The Dream’ and claim his title to solidify his position at the peak.

Will it be so easy for Joseph Diaz to beat Devin Haney?
‘Jo Jo’ put on a staggering performance against Fortuna in his last fight. He used his primal skills to get his hand raised. However, beating someone as elite as Haney would demand more than what he usually brings to the table. As a result, Diaz will have to extensively work on his prowess if he wishes to snatch Haney’s belt.
It’ll be interesting to see if this pair actually locks horns with each other in November 2021.
