Does this mean the fight is confirmed? Ryan Garcia shared an Instagram story on Wednesday, where he and Floyd Mayweather were interviewed together while strolling through the city of Las Vegas. Responding to their pair-up, Devin Haney has leaked his direct messages with ‘King Ry.’ After the undefeated boxer defeated Regis Prograis unanimously last year, several doors have opened up for him.

One such potential clash seems to be against Ryan Garcia, and with each passing day – it seems more and more real. Previously, the super lightweight duo publicly exchanged words on X, stoking the potential of them squaring off in the ring. However, Haney’s latest move to leak his DMs with Garcia On Instagram has all but confirmed the fight.

Devin Haney isn’t worried about Ryan Garcia collaborating with Floyd Mayweather

After Haney shared the screenshots of his messages with Garcia on his Instagram story, Michael Benson picked up the story, reporting it on X. “Devin Haney publicly posting his DMs with Ryan Garcia after seeing Garcia hanging out with Floyd Mayweather overnight…,” Benson wrote. As for the DMs, Haney had texted Garcia, “Floyd can’t save you or help you..” In response, Garcia wrote back, “CRY ME A RIVER.”

However, it’s worth noting that this wasn’t the first time Mayweather and Garcia have been spotted together. The last time it happened was after Garcia’s clash with Gervonta Davis, and it kicked up a storm. Upon hearing about the surprising pair-up, Ryan’s promoter and Floyd’s former rival took a snide shot at Floyd. Not to mention, it deteriorated Oscar De La Hoya and Ryan’s relationship. On the other hand, Devin Haney has spoken out about the impact Floyd had on boxing.

Though it might not seem like it today, Haney was pretty close to Floyd in the past. However, that doesn’t mean it would stop Haney from expressing his thoughts. While appearing in The Pivot podcast in June 2023, ‘The Dream’ Haney stated, “In UFC those guys fight each other, lose, fight again still equally as big, may even be bigger after a loss…”

He then went on to dote on how Mayweather’s retirement being undefeated has affected everyone’s mentality, claiming boxers now don’t want to lose their zero. “We can change the whole dynamic of it, but we’re not. Floyd made boxing better, but Mayweather kinda messed up the game with the undefeated is everything so guys don’t wanna fight each other, they wanna keep their 0,” said Haney.
