WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney is ready to defend his title on November 7 as he will step against Yuriorkis Gamboa in a 12-round main-event battle. Following a sensational year in 2019 with four consecutive wins, ‘The Dream’ is still to fight this year.

That said, his upcoming fight against Gamboa will be special for several reasons. The whole lightweight unit is currently active with several matchups on the line. In a recent interview, ‘The Dream’ gave an insight into his ongoing training camp for Gamboa. While we were just a few days away from the fight, Haney wants to claim a spectacular win in his upcoming run.

Talking about it, Devin Haney said, “I don’t only wanna win. I wanna win in a spectacular fashion. I wanna beat Gamboa worse than anyone has beat him up to date. I wanna show him and show the world that I am the best fighter in the world and I am better than any fighter that he has been in the ring with.”

He added, “In this fight, I have to make a statement. They’ve heard me talk the talk, but now it’s time to walk the walk.”

While Haney will put his WBC title on the line against Gamboa, Ryan Garcia and Luke Campbell will fight for the mandatory spot on December 5. Thus, we can expect another epic lightweight thriller shortly. Since fans are also back in the arena, we can witness some events happening amid the live audience.
