And now, the Victorville native has raised questions about Devin Haney’s religious beliefs. That’s not all, folks! The 25-year-old boxer seems to have donned a doctor’s coat as well! How?

The bitter rivals, who faced each other as amateurs, have been exchanging words of derogation on social media since their date in the ring was announced. However, today, their exchanges have gone from scathing to absolutely bonkers, as Ryan Garcia reveals the elusive cure for cancer. 

Devin Haney branded “fake,” and Ryan Garcia branded “h*e”

In one of his ‘new normal’ tweets last night, the 25-1 boxer wrote, “FAST FOR 3 1/2 days. Water [and] black coffee. Cancer will start to fall off. Trust me.” While the fans were trying to reel from Garcia’s cancer cure revelation, Haney swooped in like an eagle to announce the real reason behind the fast. He responded, “Your fasting to make weight.. keep starving, h*e.”

After discovering the stinging response from Haney, Ryan Garcia wasn’t going to take it like a timid chicken. He quickly took shots at Haney’s fast for Ramadan. Spoiler alert: Haney couldn’t observe the fast because of the fight. Garcia wrote, “Bruh you couldn’t even fast for Ramadan. So, what are you [taking] about? BRO, EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU IS FAKE. FIND OUT THIS SATURDAY.”

Garcia’s tweet came as a slap in the face to Haney, who is a devout Muslim. So, he quickly warned Ryan Garcia about his mistake. “Don’t speak [about] my religion… [you] know nothing [about],” Haney responded. However, this wasn’t even the first instance when these two rivals butted heads because of Haney’s religion. 

Garcia’s Christmas greeting hurts Haney

Back in February, the Victorville native appeared in an interview with Ariel Helwani on his popular podcast, MMA Hour. While there, Ryan Garcia revealed he had wished Haney “Marry Christmas” last December. However, the comment seemingly managed to rub Haney the wrong way, and he ended up taking offence to the greeting. 

So, addressing the situation, the Victorville native made his stance clear on Haney’s religion. “[Devin Haney] is a dumb a**. I never disrespected his religion. I want that to be clear right now. First of all, I would never do that. Second of all, I could show you the DMs, I said: ‘Merry Christmas.’ He took that as disrespect. Did I know that Muslims don’t celebrate Christmas? No!”
