Devin Haney has become the first lightweight champion in almost 32 years to hold all four divisional belts simultaneously, after his empathic victory over George Kambosos Jr., but it seems The Dream wasn’t too happy about Ring Magazine’s pound-for-pound rankings.

The undisputed lightweight champion took to Twitter and shared his thoughts on the rankings.

Haney slams pound-for-pound rankings

Haney had this to say as he tweeted “Lol Loma not even active right now.. & someone is undisputed in the same weight class that he fights in how could he still be on the pound 4 pound list??? “. while tagging the pound-for-pound list.

The Dream seemed confused by the list for including Vasyl Lomachenko over him, despite Haney having all four titles in the same division as Lomachenko. Moreover, Lomachenko has not fought anyone since Richard Commey in 2021 winning via unanimous decision.

Devin Haney vs Vasyl Lomachenko

The Matrix is currently looking to regain his lightweight titles, which he lost to Teofimo Lopez in 2019, but Lomachenko has been inactive in boxing since he decided to stay in his home country, Ukraine, after their ongoing conflict with Russia. He is currently training over there, but this decision has ultimately ruled him out from a potential fight with Haney in the near future.

Who is Devin Haney’s Trainer Ben Davison?

Haney, on the other hand, holds all the four WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO championships after beating George Kambosos Jr. He has plenty of contenders who would like to face him for the titles, but first he has to give Kambosos a rematch, due to a clause in their contract which gives Kambosos a chance for a rematch should he lose the first fight.

But many people have felt that a rematch would be a repeat of the first fight, as Haney outclassed Kambosos throughout the first fight. However, Kambos0s seems keen to activate the clause to get another chance to regain his titles. However, if the rematch with Kambosos does not happen, the pair would certainly be in talks for a potential fight, as Haney has also stated that he would like to face either Gervonta Davis or Lomachenko in his next fight. That scenario would certainly be a delight for true boxing fans.
