The lightweight division has been very exciting, and the top four fighters have all engaged in verbal battles. Garcia was at the forefront of this, calling out both Haney and Davis after his victory over Luke Campbell. However, he has now chosen not to fight either of them.
Instead ‘KingRy’ has revealed that he will fight Manny Pacquiao. This move has angered Davis who took to Twitter and wrote, “He about to do an exhibition wit Manny..definitely don’t want the fight no more! I’m on to the next.”

Haney, another potential target quoted Davis’ tweet and gave his reaction, “For once… we could agree.”
These comments showed both fighters feel Garcia is ducking them for the Pacquiao fight. This could be an opinion the vast majority of boxing fans will share with them.

We’re sure Garcia will dispute this and cite it as a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity. However, he is no longer on Twitter to engage in a war of words with the champions.

Why did Gervonta Davis and Devin Haney unite against Ryan Garcia?
The undefeated 22-year-old became the WBC interim lightweight champion and Haney’s mandatory with his victory over Campbell. However, in a move that surprised Haney’s camp, he pursued a fight against Gervonta Davis instead.
However, it was still understandable given the history between Garcia and Davis. Many expected that to be the next fight for both. Moreover, it would have been an exciting fight for fans and the lightweight division.

This decision will now change things around a lot. Haney’s fight against Teofimo Lopez may still go ahead, as reports suggest. However, ‘Tank’ will have to search for a new opponent. It will be interesting as to who he fights next, given the situation he finds himself in.
