Our prediction for the Devin Haney-Yuriorkis Gamboa fight

Devin Haney’s biggest criticism is that he has not faced many big-name fighters in his career so far. However, this is an opportunity to set things straight against a tough opponent. Everyone knows ‘The Dream’ can out-box an opponent for 12-rounds and get a knockout; Gamboa is unquestionably powerful and on his day could dispatch any opponent.

With all of this in mind, we think Devin Haney will win the fight via TKO in the latter rounds. Gamboa can use his experience and his power to test Haney in areas he has not been tested before. However, it is difficult to look past the young superstar who seems to get better and better with every fight.

In terms of ring IQ, there’s not a huge difference between the two. Both fighters are very comfortable using the space to outbox the opponent. It will come down to little details on the night; however, with age and speed on his side, Haney seemingly has the upper-hand in the fight.

Although, you can never rule out anything in boxing. Gamboa can shock the world and hand Haney his first loss. As a fight fan, you don’t want to miss this one.
