Canelo is adamant about fighting, or he is unwilling to remain under the Golden Boy’s shelter. But how would an old school boxer react to the same? It is bizarre to predict it, but not when a former world champion has openly talked about receiving a similar deal, and he is none other than Roy Jones Jr.

51-year-old Roy Jones Jr. recently connected with Joe Rogan to discuss several things about his boxing career. While he is getting ready for the upcoming exhibition battle against Mike Tyson on November 28, Jones has also opened up on the state of boxing.

As per ‘Captain Hook,’ he would have never declined an offer of 20 million dollars for one fight. Now, it could have been directed towards Canelo Alvarez, who received a similar offer from Golden Boy Promotions after the promoter could not keep up with the original contract.

Talking about it, the former world champion said, “I mean, I tell people today like, ‘Let’s talk about what’s going on with DAZN and all these fighters.’ If I was in today’s time, and I was Roy Jones, the same Roy Jones as I am — If they told me, ‘Roy, we would pay you 20 million per fight for five fights, we get to pick the opponents.’
