Did Tyson Fury Tamper With His Gloves? Eddie Hearn Reacts

Eddie Hearn has laughed off suggestions that Tyson Fury used an illegal glove.
Several clips immerged showing Tyson Fury’s ‘’half’’ worn glove. Some have suggested that the kind of impact each punch generated was far superior to what we are used to seeing with Fury.

Tyson Fury used ”Flapping” gloves?

Thankfully, many of these theories have been rubbished with Tyson’s camp coming together in unison to dismiss such claims.
Stitch Duran was enraged with the rumors, telling Boxing Social: ‘I’ll give you the facts, the Nevada State Athletic Commission is one of the best commission in the world. They handle the gloves until it’s time to put them on. ‘There was non-tampering whatsoever, I was there. It’s just a big myth. Dispel those myths and rumors, it didn’t happen.’

The main reason this was brought up was due to the various close-up videos showing Fury’s hand in a very awkward position. However, given that he is 6 Ft 9 it’s no surprise if he has hands the size of boulders.

Despite ‘’The Gypsy King’s’’ track record and credibility, this can’t be ruled out entirely.

Antonio Margarito ”pop” scandal :

In 2009 disgraced fighter Antonio Margarito used plaster of Paris power while wrapping his hands. Plaster of Paris hardens with moisture thus allowing the boxer to deliver a ‘’ deadly’’ blow. No one asked questions when Margarito destroyed Cotto. It was only due to the severity of his injuries that an investigation was made.

Boxing is ‘’not’’ a dirty sport it’s the various cheaters and dope-heads who have ruined the credibility of the sport. The saddest part is many of Boxing’s top names have indulged in such malpractices hence why it can’t be ruled out.

This does not mean that Fury is guilty but rather it just opens a conversation on cheating in the sport. Despite the commission double-checking each glove, boxers still come up with ways to cheat despite the inspection.

A more suitable solution would be for the commission to personally hand-pick the glove as well as provide wraps for fighters so that there’s no chance of tampering.

With the number of cheater’s increasing in the sport, it’s time to step up safety measures to protect the fighters.
