British heavyweight Dillian Whyte is back in contention at the top of the heavyweight division. The outspoken Londoner is famous for his no-nonsense approach in and out of the ring. And the 32-year-old has given fans another taste of this with his latest response to Tyson Fury.
Whyte is coming off an impressive victory over Alexander Povetkin in their rematch. The victory meant he regained his WBC interim champion title and remains in line to challenge for the belt.

With this tweet, not only did Whyte dismiss Fury’s claim of being number one, but he also accused ‘The Gypsy King’ of avoiding him on two separate occasions and even called him a coward. Clearly ‘The Body Snatcher’ disagrees with Fury’s claim of there only ever being one champion.

With this altercation, it is clear that Whyte and Fury do not get along with each other. And this is no surprise, as the pair have a long-standing history between them.
There have also been rumors that Whyte knocked down and hurt Fury in sparring many years ago. And as a result, ‘The Body Snatcher’ has shown his confidence in his ability to beat Fury. So could Dillian Whyte get his shot at Tyson Fury?

Since Whyte is the WBC interim champion, it outs him next in line for the WBC belt. However, since ‘The Gypsy King’ has agreed to a two-fight deal with Anthony Joshua, Whyte will have to wait at least a year. Moreover, he will have to hope that Fury beats ‘AJ’.
If that is the case, then maybe we will get to witness Fury and Whyte settle their long-standing beef. However, for now, fans and followers of the sport will have to wait to see that match-up.
