The ‘Body Snatcher’ has now revealed that it was not the case. World Boxing News was quick to catch on to his comments on the AK and Barak Show where he explained the situation. Whyte confirmed his team had made an offer of $7-8 million to Ruiz Jr to make the fight happen.
He then criticized him by saying he did not know what was wrong with Ruiz Jr for not taking the fight. He said, “So what if you lost a few fights as long as your fighting the best?”

Can the Dillian Whyte vs. Andy Ruiz Jr fight still happen?
Ruiz Jr’s intention to protect his record clearly did not impress Whyte. The Englishman has fought any fight offered to him despite not having to. He took on Povetkin when he did not have to, and despite the loss, he remained unfazed.

However, Ruiz Jr has not fought since his re-match defeat to Anthony Joshua. This could be because he is waiting for the right opponent to get back on track. Although, he is also in the process of an insane body transformation.

If Whyte can get past Povetkin in their rematch, the fight with Ruiz Jr is a real possibility. With Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury agreeing on a two-fight deal, it means he will not get the chance to challenge for the title in 2021. Moreover, recent reports suggest a bout against Ruiz Jr is a possibility for Whyte.
