Many have tipped Oleksandr Usyk to be the one who beats both Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. Experts point to his boxing IQ and claim he can outbox the heavyweight champions. However, fellow heavyweight contender, Dillian Whyte, has had his say on the matter.

Whyte is all set to face Alexander Povetkin in their rematch at ‘Rumble on the Rock’. The two will fight as the main event of a stacked card with a lot riding on the fight. And ahead of his fight, the Londoner has dismissed the hype surrounding Oleksandr Usyk and questioned his P4P status.

‘The Body Snatcher’ spoke to the AK & Barak Show on DAZN and gave his opinion. He said, “As a heavyweight… Who has he fought at heavyweight? Derek Chisora? Like, come on, like… Derek Chisora is a few years past it now. You know, I’ve beaten Derek Chisora twice.”

The 27-2 boxer then joked that if beating Chisora was a measure, then he should be number one or two in the list. These comments showed Dillian Whyte feels Usyk’s position in the P4P list is not justified.

Dillian Whyte gives his opinion on Oleksandr Usyk’s performance against Derek Chisora

‘The Body Snatcher’ made no secret of his disapproval of Oleksandr Usyk and the talk surrounding the Ukrainian. Moreover, Whyte also explained that the Chisora fight proved why no one should consider him a top P4P fighter.

“I’ve beaten him twice, properly; you know what I mean. Obviously, Usyk struggled with him, you know what I mean. In that fight, Usyk was fighting scared. He was just, sorta jabbing and running away. He never, he never had Chisora in trouble at any point,” said Whyte.

This comment showed that Usyk’s performance did not impress the Englishman. Whyte has convincingly beaten Chisora and still doesn’t get the credit that Usyk got after his victory. In addition, these comments also revealed that Whyte isn’t afraid of facing the Ukrainian.

Despite Whyte’s success in the division, Usyk has a better shot at the title than the Brixton-born fighter. Thus, it is easy to see why the heavyweight doesn’t agree with how highly people rate the former cruiserweight.
