Dillian Whyte and his pro-boxing losses

The ‘Body Snatcher’ has touched gloves with some bigwigs of the heavyweight roster. He also has emerged victorious in a number of those bouts. Yet, there were only 2 fights where the Brit succumbed to brutal losses. Moreover, both of those losses came via vicious T/KOs.

That said, as Dillian Whyte goes into his biggest, perhaps the most important fight of his career, here we look at losses the ‘Body Snatcher’ has suffered in his pro-boxing career.

Whyte’s first career loss came at the hands of the current unified heavyweight king, Anthony Joshua. Ahead of facing ‘AJ, Whyte had a prolific resume with 0 losses. But in this fight, both the pugilists came in undefeated and the ‘Body Snatcher’ lost his precious ‘O’.

Though he scored a loss, Whyte gave a good fight to Joshua. He landed slick counter-attacks on him, displaying a snippet of his charismatic power. However, he couldn’t sustain that momentum for long and fell prey to Joshua’s crushing power.

Alexander Povetkin vs Dillian Whyte  – 2020

His recent loss came in against the ‘Russian Vityaz’ Alexander Povetkin a year ago. Whyte began the fight extremely well and even dropped Povetkin twice. He was going great until Povetkin caught him with an uppercut.

The ‘Body Snatcher’ was left unconscious on the canvas, and he couldn’t find his way back to his feet. This was his second career loss, after which he didn’t step inside the squared circle.

As far as the Saturday night bout is concerned, Dillian Whyte will look to solidify his streak and add a win to his resume. This fight plays a pivotal role in his career as it will set him up for a shot at heavyweight gold.
