The internet is cutting no slack to Sunny Edwards. For the first time in his career, the former flyweight champion was handed a professional boxing defeat against Jesse Rodriguez over the weekend. His defeat was quite devastating. In the ninth round, he was floored twice and sustained brutal injuries. One such injury is an orbital fracture above his left eye.

Post the bout, a picture surfaced online of him looking unrecognizable with the bruises. A fan resorted to using that picture to troll him, but Edwards was ready with his zesty response. Find out what went down.

Edwards is an active user of social media, particularly X. He has over 84,000 followers on the platform. In a post made by a user a few days ago, Edwards was being mocked. They shared a viral picture of him—post-fight and asserted that the individual in the image was beaten up by an immigrant. Needless to say, the tweet took satire to a new level. However, it caught the attention of the former champion, who, in response, played along and did not shy away from answering back. While responding to the Tweet, he stated, “Disgusting.” He added, “If there is anything I can do for the poor fella let me know.”

It is safe to say that harmless banter does not faze the 27-year-old and he can take a joke as well as a punch. However, it bears mention that not all interactions with his trolls have been friendly. Some have been quite violent, to say the least.

Micheal Bennson even took to X. and stated, “Sunny Edwards beating up a Twitter troll who actually turned up in person to spar him at his gym today…”
