The light heavyweight division might not have the same excitement as heavyweight, but things are revving up, turbocharging the atmosphere. On June 1, the boxing world will have the next undisputed light heavyweight champion since Roy Jones Jr. And Dmitry Bivol looks ready for action in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. At least, his latest post on social media suggests he is.

The Indio, California native holds the IBO and WBA light heavyweight titles and would look to snatch the IBF, WBC, and WBO titles from Artur Beterbiev. Adding fuel to the fire, the undefeated duo will headline Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren’s 5 vs. 5 event, a first of its kind. So, when the 33-year-old shared a post on Instagram today, the excitement among fans reached a fevered pitch.

Even though there is some time left in the clash, Bivol was eager to share an update with his devoted followers. So, he quickly hopped on Instagram, sharing a snap of himself, possibly after one of his grueling training sessions. In the image, Bivol can be seen candidly sitting next to a ring in his gym as sweat covers his entire body.

Determined to destroy his Russian counterpart come fight night, Bivol captioned the post, “Getting stronger everyday.” The upcoming fight will be his toughest test since he defeated the legendary Canelo Alvarez in May 2022, creating a massive upset. So, just those three words from Bivol were enough to convince fans that Beterbiev would regret the fight ever happening.

Fan announces the fate of Artur Beterbiev

The upcoming fight will be one of the biggest spectacles in recent history, so it didn’t take long for people to clamor behind their favorite boxer’s post. One user seemed confident about Bivol’s win, suggesting Beterbiev supporters will loathe the night it happens. “Bivol [is going to] make Beterbiev fan bois cry,” wrote the user. However, it’s worth mentioning that the 39-year-old Montreal resident has a 100% KO ratio, so the opposite could also happen.

Echoing the same emotion, this fan crowned Bivol, the undisputed champion prematurely. The user wrote, “The next undisputed champ.” Yet, it’s Beterbiev who holds more belts going into the fight, the IBF, WBC and WBO belts, to be exact.

Even with the next fan, the predictions in Bivol’s favor continued. However, this user went a step further by predicting a knockout win for Bivol. The user wrote, “Artur Beterbiev is [going to] get put to sleep.” Again, the 100% KO ratio, plus, Bivol just has a 50% KO ratio. Not to mention, Beterbiev has only gone to the twelfth round once, and even then managed to knockout his opponent.

Meanwhile, another user brought up Bivol’s biggest achievement yet. The user wrote, “Canelo [doesn’t] want the smoke or what?” From the looks of Canelo’s actions, a rematch between them is highly unlikely.

The next user penned a message for Bivol, believing he would come out victorious. “Dmitriy – well done. We believe you will win. It will be a tough fight for both great fighters,” the user commented.

With over a month left in the clash, Dmitry Bivol seems to have rallied an army of fans behind him. If he manages to become undisputed on June 1, who do you think he should fight next? David Benavidez has indicated he would be interested. What are your thoughts on that fight?
