

WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol will defend his title against Gilberto Ramirez this Sunday in Abu Dhabi. The two undefeated boxers are set to collide in the ring with Bivol coming off the biggest victory of his career. The Russian beat undisputed super middleweight champion, Canelo Alvarez, in his last bout.

This fight comes after talks of a rematch with the Mexican failed as Bivol will now face contenders from his own division. Moreover, Zurdo is a veteran in the sport with an undefeated record of 44-0 looking to capture the WBA title. This fight is touted as one of the biggest events this month, so here is a look at the disclosed fight purses for their match.
It is reported that Bivol will earn a guaranteed purse of $500,000 and a 60% PPV share. This adds his total earnings to $.15 million, including the PPV share. Ramirez, on the other hand, is guaranteed a base salary of $350,000 and a 40% PPV share.

His total will add up to $650,ooo including the PPV share. Although this certainly is a drop-off for Bivol who made a guaranteed purse of $2 million and also got a 30% PPV share in his last fight.

Following on from his win over Alvarez in May, Dmitry Bivol will look to cement his place among the top fighters in boxing today. Moreover, beating Ramirez will certainly prove that. Before facing ‘Saul’, Bivol was relatively unknown in the boxing world. However, his victory over Alvarez shot him into boxing stardom. He will certainly be the favorite to win the fight.

Ramirez, on the other hand, will be looking to pull an upset and take the light heavyweight title from Bivol. Zurdo currently finds himself in the same position Bivol was in before facing Alvarez. The hard-punching challenger will be looking to grab the chance to prove himself with everything he’s got and beat the Russian.
