The fight, which was scrapped a few weeks back, has come back to life. Thus, Plant and Alvarez will now collide to crown the undisputed unified champion at 168 lbs.

Following the announcement, ‘Sweethands’ connected with the media for the first time and provided views on his stance if Canelo Alvarez gets violent inside the ring.

Caleb Plant said, “I am willing to and ready to take it wherever it has to, to get my hands raised. But don’t be surprised if you see me do my thing.”

Meanwhile, Alvarez has been on a tear in the super middleweight division. After entering the weight class against Callum Smith in December, the Mexican star has bagged three world titles. He now has the WBC, WBA, WBO belts and is only short of Caleb Plant’s IBF strap.

Plant has his title and an undefeated tag to defend. That said, the upcoming collision can see two of the best super middleweights push each other to their limits. However, Alvarez still looks favorable to win, at least on the papers.

Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant- The fight is done

21-0 as a pro with 12 KO wins, Plant has a few things to worry about. Despite successfully defending his belt against Caleb Truax in January, he didn’t look convincing. While many had predicted to see a KO coming from ‘Sweethands’, Plant’s performance was actually sloppy. There’s no denying that such a performance would cause no trouble to Canelo Alvarez.

The P4P King has had successful outings against Avni Yildirim and Billy Joe Saunders in his last two appearances. In a period from February to May, the P4P king has vanquished an undefeated champion and has defended his 168 lbs belts too. Hence, on paper, the Mexican will be the favorite.

But given the unpredictability of the sport, Plant will always have his chances of winning. Who do you think will have the last laugh?
