Former WBC interim Lightweight champion Ryan Garcia will face his arch-nemesis Gervonta Davis this April. The prospects are two of the best in their division and will look to make sure their undefeated record stays. However, one zero has to go with this highly anticipated matchup. The hype surrounding the fight only adds to the charm of the match with many celebrities and athletes giving their predictions for the fight.

Moreover, this included Holywood star Denzel Washington, who recently met ‘Tank’ Davis at a Lakers game. In a conversation with the WBA (Regular) Lightweight champion, Washington stated that the Baltimore native would make easy work of ‘KingRy’ in their match. However, Garcia was not too kind towards the Hollywood star and had a fiery response to Washington.

In a Twitter post, Garcia called out Washington claiming that it felt like the whole world was against him. He then compared Washington to former US president Barack Obama and stated that he would be more than ready to come fight night. “Bring the whole world on that’s how I’m feeling. Let the president Obama whoever think it’s a cakewalk. I’m coming with fire,” he wrote.

However, this tweet which was deleted by Garcia received some backlash. This was due to him comparing the Hollywood legend with another prominent figure like Obama. Eventually, he had to clarify his statements and give some clarity about his intentions.

Although Garcia may have made some below-the-belt comments about Washington, it should be understandable given that he will face Davis in a month. However, he was quick to clarify the comments as people took it out of context and made it into a racial issue. Despite this, it is more important that Garcia concentrates more on his opponent rather than getting into feuds online.
