The reporter asked Thompson about where the power comes from. He replied, “The power comes from within. It’s something that I’ve been blessed with. If you don’t know, my father Jeff Thompson is a five times world karate champion. His name was ‘Nuclear Arms’. I might have to change my name to ‘Nuclear Arms Jr’, I don’t know. I’ve got to get the go-ahead from dad.”
The new champ talks about what’s next for him
The Manchester native’s recent victory has opened gates for him to achieve new heights. A 6’6” Thompson was asked about what was next for him.

Thompson stated, “What is next? I mean, you asked me, I’ll take on anything, anyone, anytime, but that’s why I’m blessed with an amazing manager and an amazing promoter. Because they’re gonna guide me in the right direction, at the right pace at the right time. I do believe I’m ready for the titles now, and I’m sure they are gonna present those opportunities and when they do come, I’ll take them with both hands, no doubt about it, man.”

Well, Thompson has a good backing with Matchroom Boxing as his promoter. Also, he has some great sparring experience with boxing icons, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. Only time will tell what the future holds for him.
