YouTuber turned boxing sensation, Jake Paul, is all set to finally face his longtime rival, Tommy Fury. It can be said that this has been a highly anticipated showdown for both the boxing fraternity and fans. While this fight was previously scheduled for both December 2021 and August 2022. But did not materialize, as Fury had to back out of the fight due to an injury and visa issues respectively. Given this history between the two, fans were worried about the status of the fight when Fury failed to show up for their recent press conference. Paul, on the other hand, seems to be convinced of the fact that the Fury fight might never take place. In fact, he had even addressed it ahead of his fight against Anderson Silva in October 2022.

Paul is scheduled to fight Fury in Saudi Arabia on February 26, 2023. Meanwhile, he was previously in an interview with Boxing Social after the presser for the Silva fight. In conversation, the interviewer asked him about leaving responsibility for the fight against Fury. Paul responded by saying, “I’m still skeptical about it. My brother tells me every day. And my dad calls me every day damn near and is like, ‘Don’t give that f*cker another chance. So I don’t know. We might not.”

Moreover, he further added, “Ask any professional boxer and they’ll tell you this — no one breaks camp, mid to the end to fly all the way to Saudi Arabia. Have a 10-minute press conference. Fly all the way back to Manchester, complete my camp then fly all the way back to Saudi Arabia again the following week.” He also mentioned that he was confused as to why the presser did not take place on fight week.
