Floyd Mayweather Jr. has not let retirement stop him from stepping inside the boxing ring. Since retiring, the former five-division world champion has kept himself active and involved in the sport with his exhibition bouts. As exciting and thrilling as the idea of watching Mayweather Jr. perform inside the boxing ring for his fans was, it seems the fans are not excited about it anymore. Mayweather Jr. will be fighting the grandson of the former notorious crime boss, John Gotti, on June 11. But a significant amount of fans are seemingly not excited about this fight. Moreover, they disapprove of the champ’s exhibitions anymore.

Mayweather Jr. recently took to Instagram to announce the tickets for his fight against John Gotti III. Rather than being happy and excited about it, many fans slammed the 46-year-old for the fight. This will be Mayweather Jr.’s next exhibition fight after his February exhibition against British MMA fighter and Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers. And despite the low turnout at the fight for the champ, he seems devoted to engaging in exhibition fights.

Mayweather Jr.’s fight with Gotti III is a part of his announced exhibition tour wherein he will reportedly be traveling to five countries. Despite the champ’s best efforts, his fans are not pleased with his exhibition fight announcements.

Mayweather Jr. uploaded a poster of his fight against Gotti announcing the tickets for the fight going live on sale. But, to his surprise, the champ experienced a backlash from his fans for the Gotti fight.

One fan did not hesitate to show his disapproval of the fight, commenting, “Floyd we don’t want this sh*t.” Meanwhile, one user believes that Mayweather Jr will never truly retire from the sport. He commented, “Bros never gonna retire.” Another fan believes that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is so “broke” that he is relying on earnings from the PPVs to pay his bills. He wrote, “Dude going broke he fighting to survive by selling ppv.”

Another user believes that many people still don’t understand that Mayweather Jr. has been fighting exhibitions. He commented, “People don’t realize he’s BEEN fighting exhibitions…Guerrero…Berto…Ortiz.” Lastly, one fan suggests that Mayweather Jr. should fight Gervonta Davis so that he can get his first-ever loss. He commented, “Floyd fight your prodigy Tank so you can get that first L.”
