The former strongest man of the world and Game of Thrones star, Hafthor Bjornsson, will finally take on his rival, Eddie Hall, in September 2021. Eddie Hall is a former strongman too, and he’s started putting in the work for his September bout already. The fight between the gigantic men is also referred to as the ‘Heaviest Boxing Clash in History’.

Not only this, but Bjornsson has his eyes firmly set on another boxing match. After defeating Eddie Hall, he wants to touch gloves with the heavyweight kingpin, Tyson Fury.

His opponent Hall was in a chat alongside iFL TV, wherein he laughed off out at Bjornsson’s cosmic plans. He said, “Firstly. You’ve got to be careful what you say to newspapers.”

He continued, “He is surrounded by yes men, surrounded by people that just gobble him off, tell him how great he is… And then you know what ‘when I’m done with Eddie, I’m gonna take on Tyson Fury, that’s the kind of idiot Thor is,” he concluded.

The Brit strongman shed some light on Bjornsson’s previous boxing outing in Dubai. The latter fought Steven Ward in a three-round exhibition bout and displayed a considerable amount of power. However, the fight ended with a draw on the scorecards.

Hall claims Bjornsson has a bunch of ‘yes men’ who laud him for each and everything he does, including his performance in the boxing bout. This is predominantly why Hall feels ‘The Mountain’ is on Cloud 9. And in the add up to the same, he challenged the ‘Gypsy King.’

Can Hafthor Bjornsson really get his hands on Tyson Fury?

Although the ‘Mountain’ has competed in an exhibition bout, a professional 12-round outing against the Brit will be a different ballgame altogether. He’ll have to immerse himself completely in the sport and learn everything right from scratch to stand out against the ‘Gypsy King’.

Even if he prepares himself significantly, there is no assurance of him bagging a fight with the heavyweight champion who is pursuing undisputed glory at heavyweight.

However, a couple of years down the line we might see the duo collide if Fury asserts on an exhibition bout. Also, if Fury hangs his gloves from the sport in a few years, Hafthor will be delighted to trade punches with him in a friendly match.

Do you agree with Eddie Hall’s remarks on the ‘Mountain’? Does the Fury vs Bjornsson clash excite you?
