Multi-divisional world champion Canelo Alvarez became an elite boxing name with his pro-active boxing run. In 2021, he became the maiden undisputed super-middleweight champ and pinned his name in the history books. Since then, Canelo’s been right at the top of news headlines.

Without a doubt, Alvarez is relishing his prime in the sport and everyone is curious about how he remains hungry despite having attained it all.

Eddie Hearn shed some light on Canelo’s mindset when he appeared on The MMA Hour.

”When you’re around someone like Canelo, you start to realize the importance of confidence and mindset of a fighter. He thinks he’s completely unbeatable. And he thinks he can beat Usyk. I mean, I guess he probably thinks he could beat ‘AJ’. Like that’s just his mentality, and he’s so good,” he said.

After claiming all the super-middleweight titles, Alvarez teased on a move up to the cruiserweight landscape. He even secured a bout against WBC cruiserweight champion Ilunga Makabu. Meanwhile, the rumor mill also teased a fight between him and the ex-cruiserweight king, Oleksandr Usyk.

With Hearn‘s comments, one can be sure that Alvarez will not consider any move beyond reach and he could actually head to heavyweight with the belief that he will leave the ring with the belts.

Who will Canelo Alvarez really fight in 2022?

Canelo Alvarez’s cruiserweight plans seem under dark clouds, as Makabu needs to defend his belts against a mandatory. As a result, the Mexican fighter is expected to defend his belts at 168-pounds itself.

The biggest opponent popping up in the scenario is Jermall Charlo. Also, a fight between the two men is reportedly targeted for Cinco De Mayo weekend.
