Eddie Hearn Gives an Ultimatum to Bob Arum and Artur Beterbiev to Materialize Dmitry Bivol Undisputed Title Clash

The Canadian-Russian boxer Artur Beterbiev defeated Joe Smith Jr. to become the unified light heavyweight champion. The next great fight for Beterbiev is to take on the WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol for the undisputed title. Hence, British promoter Eddie Hearn has voiced an ultimatum to Beterbiev and his promoter, Bob Arum.

Hearn called out the founder and CEO of Top Rank boxing to finally materialize the undisputed light heavyweight championship fight.

Eddie Hearn says it’s now or never for Beterbiev vs Bivol

Dmitry Bivol recently delivered the second loss of the four-division champion Canelo Alvarez’s career to him. Similarly, Beterbiev defeated Joe Smith Jr. to become the unified light heavyweight champion.

Therefore, the chairman of Matchroom Boxing believes that the fight for the undisputed title should happen as soon as possible. He said, “Bivol is ready to fight for undisputed… Sept/Oct/Nov? If we wait, Bivol’s gonna make a defence and then do the Canelo rematch.”

Additionally, Hearn mentioned that Bob Arum should stop talking about other fights, like Beterbiev taking on Anthony Yarde, and make the fight with Bivol official. He said, “So if you wanna be undisputed, strike now, don’t talk about other fights, let’s make the fight.”

The WBA light heavyweight champion shocked the entire world when he outboxed and outmatched one of the greatest boxers of this generation, Canelo Alvarez. Bivol picked apart Alvarez throughout the match and claimed the victory via decision.

Similarly, Beterbiev knocked out Joe Smith Jr. in the second round of their fight for the unified light heavyweight championship. Even at 37 years of age, Beterbiev proved he is a force to be reckoned with. Regardless of what happens, the undisputed title fight is definitely going to be one of the greatest fights of the year. Let’s just hope it materializes soon.
