“So just hold your horses till December 12th. That’s the key date in heavyweight calendar. Because if AJ can beat Pulev, we want to make that fight immediately; for the late spring, early summer of 2021.”

Why does Eddie Hearn not want to wait

Hearn went on to explain that if Tyson Fury is to fight in early 2021, then their fight for June will be in jeopardy and will have to be delayed.

This would then cause problems with Oleksandr Usyk, who is mandatory for Joshua. Thus, Hearn isn’t willing to wait and is hoping that Fury fights in January 2021, so there is enough time to make the fight.
